We all need a spiritual family that is big enough to help us, yet at the same time, small enough to know us and love us. That is why we have made a commitment that every member and attender of First Lutheran will have access to a small group of people who will support and partner with them in growing closer to Christ, as well as support and partner with them in reaching out to others with the love of Jesus Christ. We all need a TEAM!
What do people in our small groups do?
- They share what’s happening in their lives, where they’re succeeding, where they’re struggling, and what they’re needing.
- They pray for each other and for people they know who need Jesus and His love.
- They apply God’s Word and help each other live out that Word. They partner together in reaching their friends for Christ, and encourage one another in reaching.
- They serve those in the small group, the people they are reaching, the community in which they are living, and the church they are supporting.
Small groups are also a place where people can connect with one or two others to go even deeper in God’s Word and in their relationship with Him. In addition, we have small groups for youth and children, as well as a number of special support groups in Celebrate Recovery that deal with addictions, co-dependency, marriage or financial difficulty, grief, abuse, and other needs.
