It's marathon, raising kids. Full of joys, challenges, growth and so much more! At First Lutheran, we're all about your child's future. We want him/her to know Jesus, not just know about Him. That's where "Seeds for Growth" comes in. Every child is part of the growth process and we feel privileged to be here, to help nurture and grow your child along with you as parents.

Our "Seeds for Growth" Children's Ministries has a variety of opportunities for children to participate in age-appropriate activities and learning throughout the week.

On Sunday morning and during the week you'll find for your child:

• a place to DISCOVER who God is!
• a place to DISCOVER what God has done for them!
• a place to DISCOVER relationship building with God and others, and that we can share with others about our God and Savior Jesus!
• a place to DISCOVER new things, friends, praise, pray, and learn.  

Our Children's Ministry Values

Our Sunday morning and Wednesday night activities are:

• Prayer and Worship focused
• Relationship building with God and others
• Teaching and learning from God's Word
• A fun and safe place for kids and their friends

SUNDAYS

For safety purposes, all children in our nurseries must be signed in & later picked up by a parent or guardian with appropriate checkout tag. Drop off for children in the nurseries begins 15 minutes before each worship service.

Preschool & Elementary - Kids need to experience church too...
That’s why we have preschoolers, and grades K-5th join us for the first part of the worship service each Sunday. Children are dismissed during the service to walk with their teachers to class each week.

• Little Kids Time is for kids ages 3 to 5

-Located in the Mackensen Building, Room #102

Beginning March 2nd, we will be beginning a new and exciting curriculum called "Growing in Christ".  We will discover that Jesus came into this world to forgive us and grant us faith.  That is true spiritual faith which shows us that Jesus will always love and forgive us.  We will see how Jesus heals a blind man and discover more wonderful things God can show us.
 

• The Discovery Zone is for kids ages kindergarten - 5TH grade 

-Located in Tedrahn Hall

In our new curriculum Bible-In-Life, we are relating the Bible to our lives.  Our lessons  include:  "Don't just listen to the Word; do what it says," "We all have abilities to use for God," and "We need to show love to those who seem least important."

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS

Pioneer Clubs - 6:30-8:00 pm

Pioneer Clubs is a fun midweek Christian club for kids (ages 3 through 5th grade).  It is a place that has fun, friends, and activities including art, hobbies and games where we use,  understand and apply the Bible to daily life.  Friends are always welcome!!!! 

Some of the fun activities that we have done are....

• Working on crafts using clay and making our own unique masks
• Producing and acting in dramas reflecting our Bible lessons 
• Learning from our Bible study and Bible memory verses how God cares for each one of us
• Going on a fun hike one Sunday afternoon with our families
• Celebrating Thanksgiving and the birth of Jesus with a "Happy Birthday Jesus Party"
• We have opportunities to bring our friends for our Pizza Night, Cookie Party and Crazy Hair Night
• Our upcoming Bible themes focus on knowing God, figuring out why I am here, and even learning how each of our family members are unique
• And finally there will be more crafts, games and great snacks
