High School

High School Ministries

Bible Class

Sunday mornings ~ 9:45 - 10:45 AM ~ Mackensen 201 (upstairs)

Learn about Christ through age-appropriate Bible study and fellowship. Led by Kelly Warneke. No class on the first Sunday of each month so that students have a chance to regularly worship in church and receive Communion with the rest of the congregation.

Refuge

Sunday nights ~ 7:00—9:00 PM ~ Mackensen 207 (upstairs)

Join other high school students and young adults as we experience Christ together through Bible study, student speakers, prayer, and other worship experiences.

October 4: No Class (go to worship at 9:45AM)

October 11: Trust

October 18: Forgiveness from Jesus

October 25: No Class (Confirmation at 9:45AM)

Impact

Impact Group #1 meets at First Lutheran in Mackensen 207 (upstairs) every Wednesday night from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. It’s led by Cindy Darrieulat, Gloria Ollhoff, and Kelly Warneke. All students are welcome to join us as we actively experience God’s Word together. We play games, learn about God by studying stories from the Bible, and spend time with others.

UPCOMING YOUTH EVENTS

Confirmation Sunday

October 25 at 9:45 a.m. Service

Confirmation at First Lutheran has three basic components: attendance at one weekend Youth Retreat, participation in a regular gathering of Christians (like Bible class, Impact, Refuge, or a New Life Gathering), and completion of Basic Training take-home lessons. If you're interested in learning more about Confirmation, or if you want to get started with the Basic Training lessons, talk to Kelly Warneke.

Trunk or Treat

October 31

Decorate a "trunk" with your family, or join with the Youth Ministry in the parking lot at First Lutheran as we decorate cars, hand out candy, and meet families from our church's neighborhood.

4:30 p.m. Meet in the front parking lot at First Lutheran to help set up. 5:00-7:00 p.m. Hand out candy. 7:00 p.m. Help with clean up. 7:30 p.m. Done. Stick around afterwards if you want to go to Chipotle...usually on Halloween, they give away free burritos if you dress up in foil. We'll find out more details as the day gets closer, but be prepared (we'll provide the foil, you just need to show up!)
