We feel that the most important purposes of Kindergarten are the development of a child's self-esteem, the emphasis of cooperation, and the fostering of a child's natural love of learning.
We provide a Developmentally Appropriate Kindergarten Program here at First Lutheran. Many of the academic skills are achieved through hands-on learning and age appropriate activities. We believe in developing the "whole" child, which includes five essential areas of every child. These areas are a child's emotional, social, creative, physical and intellectual components. We achieve this goal by exposing our students to many different experiences throughout the day.
On a daily basis our program includes, math, music, art, science, writing, reading, phonics, fine and large motor development and Christian Education. We do follow the California state standards within our curriculum. We also have the opportunity to cook once a week and go on monthly field trips throughout the year. There is a classroom ratio of 12 students to 1 teacher.
The Kindergarten hours are from 8:30am-12:30pm Monday-Friday. Before and after school care is available.
